About Me

You move your scale out of your bathroom because you are afraid to weigh yourself.

The last time you got any kind of exercise, Bill Clinton was president.

You avoid logging into your bank account because you don’t want to know your credit card balance.

What you want is a real-life makeover, a way to be YOU but BETTER. You want some shortcuts, tips, tricks, and hacks to simplify your life.

I get it, I’ve been there (some days, I’m still there).

My name is Veneta and I started writing Becoming Life Smart to help busy, stressed out people get smart about saving money, being healthy and living a better life – one easy shortcut at a time.

I share tips and tricks that help real people like you get their lives under control. Stick around for simple, actionable advice on getting on top of your finances, living a healthy life, and figuring out what works best for you.

My goal is to help you design the kind of life YOU want to live. I’ve spent the last 15 years figuring out the easiest way to manage my money, get healthy, maintain my weight and live a better life. The results: one paid off house, two paid off cars, no consumer debt, six-figure savings, and a healthy weight (+5 lbs from high school two kids later). I even find time to get some exercise.

Here are some quick hits to get you started:

And in case you are here to find out more about me…

I’m imperfect and real, a mom of two rambunctious boys, a wife to my wonderful (and extremely patient husband), and a corporate marketer by day. I’m addicted to Nutella, spend way too much time on my phone and enjoy reading books almost as much as writing. I love my family, traveling to new places, crispy bacon, and good wine.

Join me in turning hectic into happy, one easy shortcut at a time.
